XD I've been planning on doing this pic for sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long! It's been in my head (like almost all of my noir pics) since I STARTED drawing Lefty, just haven't had the ability or skill untill now to tackle em. BTW this is the most expression you will ever see on Lefty. XD

You have to remember, Lefty came in as an errand boy, and basically that's what he stayed, so even while training with Mugsy to be a hit-man, he still did chores, and by the time he became the family's main hit-man, he was still stuck doing chores.

One of his main jobs? The Bosses personal Dog walker. It doesn't help that he's one of the smallest guys either, so he gets pulled around by a bunch of unruly Dobermans, who basically weight alittle less than him. And because of this, the Dobermans LOVE Lefty, he's been adopted as one of the pack (not as leader of course haha) And so when Lefty is back at the hang out (basically a pool hall/ speak-easy, they are always piled up around him. He sleeps on a couch in the pool hall as well, and they all sleep on top of him basically. I sapose at least he has a few friends right? Lefty's not really a dog person, or an animals person, or a people person for that matter. But I guess he doesn't mind them too much.

Remember this is back in the 20's, so the Doberman is a very brand new breed. Thus why these guys look a tad different, and alittle mix-and-match, plus they cut the ears and tails much shorted back then. (1915 Dobie; [link] ) But just like the Tommy-gun, Lefty's mob got hold of them very quickly and they became new toys. Since the doberman was designed as a dog for Tax collector to have, it only seemed fitting to give the racketeers of the family dogs they could take when visiting the local clubs and other "investments" that needed collecting from.

But they still need to be walked. Don't worry Lefty, they only live about 20 years...

Looks like he really got his hands full! I like the black-and-white choice and the shading. It really sets the mood. And the one Doberman hanging back makes it so that you don't stray your eyes off the page. Dobermans are possibly my favorite breed but I'm so poorly unfit to own one that I probably shouldn't even try.
