Well, there you have it, I finally revealed Arley's love interest.
Originally I never intended to give Arley an actual love interest, mostly because I just wanted to draw Arley as Arley, I didn't want you guys seeing him as just "another gay character for fangirls to ogle at" and to be honest I didn't want to be known as just another female artist who draws dudes together. XD But Arley is gay, and that's part of his story, if it was Lefty and Bama no big deal, and I realized that not fair, I should be able to draw Arley happy to.
This is Rupert Dinsmore, I got the idea for him from watching a movie, I didn't know what it was about and just decided to watch it and it turned out to be a movie about the romances that would occur in British all boy school's in the 1930's. Basically guys being raised in all boys schools as kids up until college, some would have playful little "bromances" and it was very hush-hush and most of the professors and teachers assumed it was a phase and they would eventually go back to "normal" once out in the real world. And I sapose some of them would, it being a case of environment, but I'm sure plenty of them were actually gay. I ended up doing alittle reading about it aswell, and the idea was so interesting to me I thought why not have Arley, while traveling in the Navy during WWII, bump into a college student from an all boys school. And there was Rupert. :3
Ruperts very sweet, kindhearted, and a tad shy at times. He's only a few years younger than Arley but he is much shorter. Arley is about 6'2 and Ruperts about 5'7. He spotted Arley walking around a park one day, and as it so happened he had become a tad infatuated with the Sailors he would see coming and going on leave.(who wouldn't sailors are awesome!) He decided he would approach Arley and write a paper for school on him, the war, and being an American Sailor in Europe. Needless to say after meeting for Tea, Lunches, and walks through the park they hit it off, and after spending all their time together they eventually became lovers. Though they didn't have much time together, and because of their "situation" the time the spent together had to be away from the public eye, or acting like they weren't a pair. (like here they are out at an old Dockyard in the middle of the night trying to enjoy some time together away from prying eyes.) Sadly after a very short time together Arley was forced to leave Rupert to continue fighting in the war, they continued to write each other throughout their lives, and meet from time to time. Even though they are both totally different worlds they truly do love each other. And I do believe they are each others soul mates
XD Alright that's enough of the mushy stuffs.
I actually came up with Rupert over a year ago, here is the first designs of him: [link]
I've just never felt quite ready to put him out there until now. Also I apologize for lack of activity lately, this is the first thing I've drawn in about a month. I haven't done any drawings except for worked on commissions abit. My Navy goal has had to take all priority in my time lately. Hopefully you guys understand. For More of Arley: [link]
